This article aims to show the postcolonial discourse of Philippines through utilization magical realism in novel When Elephants Dance (2002) by Tess Uriza Holthe. is intrinsically structured into four main sections which describe events leading up Japan’s surrender. Inside these sections, story integrated with five sub-stories from accompanying characters are A Cure for Happiness, Mang Minno, Ghost Children, The Twilight People, and Portrait an Aristocrat.
